The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu gave the commendation when he led a delegation of Kwara North stakeholders to the site of the ongoing construction of the Bode-Saadu-Kaiama-Kosubosu road of the state.

Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu explained that the road, which was awarded by the Federal Government to BUA Group of Company through a tax credit initiative would prove to be a jinx breaker to farmers’ inability to bring their produce to the capital and other parts of the neighborhoods due to poor road network.

He also noted that the road will serve as the gateway between all the five Local Government Areas in the Kwara North to the Kwara Central and South as well as other neighboring states.

“Before now, farmers from the Kwara Northern part of the state would have to go through either Niger or Oyo states to travel within, but with this road construction, travel time for people and goods especially farm produce would be shortened and less herculean as movements from Baruten, Edu, Moro, Patigi, and Kaiama Local Government Areas to the capital and other neighboring states will no longer be a problem”, the Speaker explained.

The Speaker who is the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC Conference Speakers in Nigeria also noted that farmers from the Kwara North which is reputed as the food basket of the state, can contribute massively to food sufficiency in the country which will ultimately crash food prices.

“In Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, we have a Governor that means well for his people and we also have a President that listens to our Governor, if not all that, we would not even have an idea about the tax credit initiative, so on behalf of the stakeholders from the Kwara North especially our traditional, community, religious and political leaders, we are grateful to the President and the Governor for this massive project that will fastrack development in our state”.

On their part, Hon Abdullah Danbaba, Hon. Nafisat Buge, Rt. Hon. Matthew Okedare and other stakeholders who also spoke on the tour commented on the economic benefit of the road and applauded President Tinubu and Governor AbdulRazaq for the infrastructural development.
