The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu has welcomed the sighting of the crescent to commence Ramadan 1445AH fast, calling on the Muslims to pray for the Nigerian leaders.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu congratulated the Muslim faithful on the commencement of another Ramadan fast and charged them to maximize the opportunity of the blessed month to become spiritually rejuvenated.
“I wish to congratulate the Emir of Ilorin and the Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Council of Chiefs and Obas; His Royal Highness, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and all our royal fathers, religious leaders and the generality of the Muslim Ummah in Kwara, Nigeria and across the world as we witness another blessed Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar”, the Speaker stated.
“It is important for us all to maximize the benefits embedded in this holy month by increasing all our acts of worship, especially Qur’an recitation, and charity to the downtrodden to get abundance rewards and be spiritually rejuvenated. It is also essential to always remember our leaders both at the state and federal levels in prayers for Allah to continue to guide them aright and give them all they need to tackle challenges facing us and take us to the next level”
