Gov.Matawalle Seeks Inclusion For Citizens At Federal Civil Service

Zamfara State Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has visited the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha to seek for full representation of the state indigenes in the federal civil service.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Director General, Media, Public Enlightenment and Communications to the Governor Malam Yusuf Idris Gusau and made available to Radio Nigeria in Gusau.

He said the visit centred on how to fill the state’s quota with genuine indigenes of the state at the federal level in accordance with provisions of the federal character in all federal government MDA’s and other political appointments.

The Governor also discussed the Covid-19 strategy on best ways to curb the spread of new delta virus in Zamfara state and the nation at large.

According to him,Zamfara State indigenes were left behind in terms of federal government appointments and strategic positions compared to other states in the country and solicited for the filling of the gap as provided by the Federal Character.

Responding, the SGF, Mr. Boss Mustapha thanked Governor Matawalle for the timely visit and assured to fix Zamfara indigenes in all the federal government MDAs in order to contribute their quota towards development of the country.

He also commended the governor’s effort in uniting members of the APC in the state describing it as one of the main signs of development and urged him to sustain the tempo.

Investigation conducted by Radio Nigeria shows that Zamfara has the list number of people at federal government ministries, departments and agencies with only one permanent secretary at the federal civil service.

The Governor was accompanied by the the secretary to Zamfara State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Principal Private Secretary, Alhaji Lawal Umar Maradun and the Director General Protocols, Alhaji Aliyu Sani Bk.
