Hijab: FOMWAN Commends Kwara Gov’s Decision

The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria, FOMWAN has commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for approving the use of Hijab for Muslim girl students in the public and grants aided schools in Kwara State.

The FOMWON in a statement by its Kwara State Amirah, Hajia Maimuna Sheu reiterated that Hijab is prescribed by Almighty Allah in the Holy Qur’an for Muslim women and girl child to protect their chastity, as such it is the right of every Muslim female and should be respected by all.

It called for calmness and truthful engagement on both conventional and social media devoid of campaign of calumny to enhance peace and tranquility.

The statement enjoins all stakeholders to respect the rights of every individual without any form of inciting utterances.

The FOMWAN called on the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Development to expedite action on designing appropriate uniform Hijab for public and grants aided schools in the State.
