Ilorin Emirate Descendant Progressive Union, IEDPU, has appealed to Federal Government to establish a Federal College of Education in Kwara State.
National President, IEDPU, Alh. Aliyu Uthman Otta, made the appeal at the Union’s Secretariat, during the opening ceremony of year 2020 Annual Convention of IEDPU Central Zone & launching of appeal fund for a block of four classroom at the IEDPU Model School, Oke-Foma, Ilorin.
Alh. Uthman Otta who said kwara was unique in seeking for knowledge in whatever form also noted that establishment of Federal College would further enhance Educational pursuit in the state.
Earlier, the state commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science & Technology, Hajia Sa’adatu Madibbo Kawu, who explained that the kwara state government had taken a step in that regard, however, expressed optimism that authorities concerned at the federal level would see to the demand soonest.
Speaking on the construction of four blocks of classroom at the Ilorin Model School and other IEDPU projects, Alh Saidu Alaya the chairman Central Zone appealed to well to do individuals in the society to join hands and assist in actualization of the projects.
In his address, the chairman, organizing committee, Alh. Mohammed Bello Olohundare, appreciated everyone who graced and contributed towards the success of the program.
