JUST IN: Kwara Gov. Signs 2021 Appropriation Bill Into Law

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has signed the State’s 2021 appropriation bill into law.

Signing the bill into law at the government house, Ilorin, Governor AbdulRazaq, said with the budget, his administration will build on the ongoing infrastructural development and increased investments in social protection and youths empowerment.

The Governor commended the House members for working very hard to ensure that the N137.6bn appropriation bill was passed into law.

The Governor also assented to the bill repealing pension payments to former Governors and former Deputy Governors in the state

Speaking, Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Engineer Dalalandi Yakubu who  of was present with some members of the State Assembly said the budget would have huge impacts on the economy of the state, especially, with regards to job creation, youth empowerment, and welfare of workers.

Governor AbdulRazaq had on December 14, 2020 presented a budget proposal of N123,091,307,468 to the House of Assembly, describing it as a product of wide consultations with the electorate and designed to reflect current economic challenges.

Few weeks later, the governor presented an upward review of the fiscal documents to the State Assembly, jerking it upward with about 13 billion naira.
