The Rector of Kano state polytechnic Dr Kabiru Bello Dungurawa says the institution has mapped out blue print of Running six Bachelor of Technology degree programmes in Affiliation with Bayero University Kano.
Dr Kabiru Bello Dungurawa stated this while briefing journalist in Kano.
The Rector who was appointed barely three Months Ago by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said he had set the Ball Running through running a transparent Administration.
He said measures had been put in place interms of readiness for accreditation of courses which were due for accreditations.
Dr Kabiru Bello Dungurawa noted that out of the sixty four courses studied in the school fourty nine were due for accreditation while nine were due for Resource Verification.
The Rector explained that that institution had consulted the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) with the aim of fine-tuning modalities of accrediting the courses.
” When I came onboard I visited NBTE and intimated them on these courses that were due for accreditations, preparations were ongoing in ensuring that NBTE visited our school to access our readiness for the accreditation”.
Dr Kabiru Bello Dungurawa further stated his stewardship was putting much emphasis on Training and of retraining the Academic and non Academic staff.
He noted that through collaborations with Tertiary Education Trust fund, over twenty Academic Staff have been sponsored to further there Education,which includes masters and PHD courses at various institutions within the Country and abroad.
The rector maintained that the school management had implored stiff measures in ensuring that covid 19 protocols were highly observed aimed at curtailing the spread of the virus.
Dr Kabiru Bello Dungurawa stated that among the challenges faced by the institution includes , shortage of staff, delapedation of some blocks in various units of the institution among others.
He added that staff welfare was among top priorities of his Administration,saying all the outstanding payments of casual staff has been settled and prompt payments of Allowances of part time lecturers has been fully Adopted.
Dr Kabiru Bello Dungurawa commended the efforts of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for the endless Support he renders to the Collage at all times.
