Muslim Leaders have been advised to use their platforms to preach brotherhood and peaceful coexistence among one another.
Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq gave the advice while declaring the Eight Triennial Council Congress of Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Northern States Council open in Ilorin.
Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq who was represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Religious Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Danmegoro also commended roles of Ansarudeen Society in National development especially in the educational sector.
In a remark, Chairman of the occasion, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Yusuf Olaolu Ali, represented by Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Kehinde Eleja urged the society not to relent in the effort to improve the quality of education in the Country.
Yusuf Olaolu Ali who further described recent Hijab controversy in Ilorin as uncalled for, called on different religions in the country to always exhibit tolerance.
Earlier in an address of welcome, Chairman Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Northern States Council, Alhaji Najeemudeen Yasin said that the conference could not have come at a better time especially as the Society is passing through several challenges that needed to be discussed.
There were goodwill messages from some Royal Fathers, Islamic Clerics among others.
