Kwara Gov. Sends Education Trust and Environmental Protection Bills To State Assembly

Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency Amendment Bill Twenty Twenty-Three and Kwara State Education Trust Fund Amendment Bill Twenty Twenty-Three today scaled through second reading at the State House of Assembly.

The two Executive Bills passed second reading on the floor of the House following a debate on the bills led by House Leader, Hon. Magaji Oba-Abdulkadir during today’s sitting

Hon. Oba-Abdulkadir pointed out that the State Education Trust Fund bill Intends to restructure Education for optimum performance to ensure hitch free funding of education in the state

On Environmental Protection Agency Amendment Bill, House Leader expressed worry over industrial and commercial wastes indiscriminately dumped within Ilorin Metropolis and advocated increase of penalties for the erring citizens to curb the menace

Some of the lawmakers in their contributions supported the amendment of the bills to address the pressing challenges of the education sector and combat poor environmental practices in the state

The two bills were read second time by Deputy Clerk, Kareem Olayiwola Ahmed during today’s plenary

Speaker, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, thereafter referred bills to House Committees on Education and Human Capital Development as well as Health and Environment to conduct a Public Hearings and report back to the House in due course.
