State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has arrested a 39 year old man for defiling a minor.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the Command spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi in Ilorin.
According to the statement, the case was reported at NSCDC Igbaja Divisional Office on June 14, 2021 by the victim’s grandfather who was said to have caught the suspect in the act.
The statement explains further that after due investigation, it was discovered that the 12 year old girl was suffering from mental deficiency which led to speech impairment as a result of the abuse.
It adds that a medical report obtained from a hospital in ijagbo also showed penetration and bruises in the victim’s private area.
The suspect, whose name was given as Segun Oni, confessed that he had lured the minor into the inappropriate sexual act on several occasions.
Meanwhile, the NSCDC official added that the suspect would be charged to court after a further investigation.
