Kwara Speaker mourns Chief Imam of Patigi, Magajin Geri of Lafiagi, and Wambayi of Ilesha-Baruba
The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu has described the deaths of the trio of the Chief Imam of Patigi; Alhaji Abdulmalik Ibn Mohammed, Magajin Geri of Lafiagi; Alhaji Ahmed Alhassan and the Wambayi of Ilesha-Baruba; Alhaji Adamu Asaburu as colossal losses.
“I am deeply saddened to hear about the death of our father and religious leader in Patigi; Alhaji Abdulmalik Ibn Mohammed, this is indeed a great loss to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Etsu Patigi and Vice Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Council of Chief; HRH Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, the family of the late Chief Imam and the Patigi Emirate as a whole”, Rt. Hon. Danladi-Salihu noted in a statement issued on Sunday.
“I also offer my sincere condolences to the family of the Magajin Geri of Lafiagi over the death of Alh Ahmed Alhassan. Popularly known as ‘Alhaji Baba Taiye’, the late Magajin Gari of Lafiagi did his best as a community leader to contribute his quota to the development of Lafiagi Emirate, he will be sorely missed. We commiserate with the Emir of Lafiagi; HRH Alhaji Muhammad Kudu Kawu, the family of the late Magajin Geri of Lafiagi, and the entire Lafiagi Emirate”, Speaker Danladi also stated.
“I am equally incredibly saddened to hear about the Wambayi of Ilesha-Baruba; Alhaji Adamu Asaburu’s passing, this is another great loss to us as a people. The late retired cop was a disciplinarian and a community leader whose contributions to the development of Ilesha-Baruba earned him the title of Wambayi, we have lost a great man. I wish to condole the Emir of Ilesha-Baruba; HRH Professor Halidu Abubakar, the Asaburu family, and the entire people of Ilesha-Baruba emirate”
Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu asked the families of Chief Imam of Patigi, Magajin Geri of Lafiagi, and Wambayi of Ilesha-Baruba to be comforted by the fact that the deceased led remarkable lives and prayed to Allah to forgive their shortcomings and admit them into Aljanat Fridaos.
