KWARA SPEAKER REITERATES COMMITMENT OF 9TH ASSEMBLY TOWARDS EMPOWERMENT OF CONSTITUENTS

The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu says the Ninth Assembly will continue to empower the people especially those at the grassroots level to make life more meaningful to them.

Engineer Danaladi-Salihu stated this at the Empowerment program organized by Honourable Razak Owolabi Olatunde, member representing Share/Oke Ode constituency at the Ninth Assembly held in Share in Ifelodun Local Government area of the state.

The Speaker who commended Hon Owolabi for what he described as unprecedented empowerment from any house of Assembly member in the history of the state hinted that other lawmakers are also planning to massively empower their constituents.

“I want to commend Hon Owolabi for this massive empowerment of his constituents, this kind of empowerment project is synonymous only to the Ninth Assembly in line with our resolve to change the old narrative”.

He added that Hon Owolabi, in the last two years has been making the Ninth Assembly proud through many various infrastructural projects such as road, water, energy among others he had facilitated to his constituency and for his constituents

Engineer Danladi-Salihu also commended Governor AbdulRahman AndulRazaq for the cooperation and support extended to the lawmakers which he noted, gives the Ninth Assembly leeway to perform beyond peoples expectation and imagination.

“I am very sure other lawmakers are also preparing to emulate what Hon Owolabi is doing today, we are grateful to our Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AndulRazaq for this opportunity which allows us to empower as and when due”.

The Speaker enjoined the beneficiaries of the empowerment program to seize the opportunity to be self-reliant and be able to empower others in the nearest future.

While appreciating the people of Share/Oke Ode especially women and youth for supporting Hon Owolabi, the Speaker enjoined kwarans to continue to support APC and the Government of AbdulRahman AndulRazaq.

In his opening speech, the benefactor and member representing Share/Oke Ode Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Razak Owolabi Olatunde appreciated God for His blessing as well as Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, his deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt Hon Yakubu Danladi-Salihu and other chieftains, elders and stakeholders of the APC for supporting him.

Hon Owolabi explained that he had to take a loan to augment what he initially budgeted to prosecute the empowerment just to ensure that his constituents continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy and promised to do more.

Items distributed to the beneficiaries are six (6) vehicles, forty (40) grinding machines, forty-three (43) sewing machines, twenty (20) knap sprayers, two (2) freezers, two (2) generating sets, many cutting clippers, scholarship for twenty-five (25) students as well as five thousand exercise books for primary and secondary schools in ten (10) wards that make up Share/Oke Ode constituency.

In the entourage of the Rt. Hon Speaker to the program were Hon Muhammad Baba Saliu, member representing Okuta/Yashikira constituency at the House of Assembly, Hon Aliyu Lafia Kora Sabi, Commissioner-Designate and Hon Abdullah Samari, Kwara APC Caretaker Chairman.

The Program was also attended by the Clerk, Kwara State House of Assembly, Hajia Halimat Kperogi, Chairman, Kwara State House of Assembly Service Commission, Haji Femi Yusuf, Special Assistant to the Governor on Domestic Affairs, Mr Soji Alashi, House of Rep member, Hon Tunji Ajulo opin and all the Traditional Rulers in Ifelodun Local Government.
