Kwara will partner institutions to block financial leakages – Modibo-Kawu

Kwara State Government says it will strengthen its collaboration with reputable institutions across the country and block loopholes against financial leakages in the state-owned tertiary institutions.

The State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo-Kawu stated this in Osogbo, Osun State Capital, when she led a delegation on a courtesy visit to compare notes with the Osun State University.

Hajia Modibbo-Kawu explained that the visit was aimed at collaborating with selected institutions in the areas of instructional leadership, component and structure, standard practices, administration and management.

Other areas include human capital development for staff and students, quality assurance, faculty and staff engagement as well as strategic planning.

She applauded the Vice Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola, management and staff of the Osun State University for their prudence in which they had saved over Two Hundred Million Naira that could have been mismanaged.

Earlier, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola expressed delight and thanked the Commissioner for the visit, emphasising the need for partnerships in the education sector as obtained in the advanced nations.

He noted that the University in spite of its challenges, has not been in red even when schools were closed down as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.
