The senator that represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Assembly, Shehu Sani has been mocked on social media for saying he was stocking supplies in preparation for the now-suspended strike by organised labour.

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and affiliate unions had declared a nationwide strike to commence on Monday to protest the recent hike in electricity tariff and petrol pump price.

But after seven-hour meeting with representatives of the Federal Government, it was announced early Monday that the strike had been suspended for two weeks.

Taking to his micro blog on Sunday evening, before the suspension, Sani shared a photo of himself sitting on a chair in his compound clutching a tablet and captioned it, “Stocking for the national strike.”

Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi mocked the ex-lawmaker over the tweet.

Replying the tweet, he wrote, “Good morning Sen. How was your night?”

In another tweet, he wrote, “Just one more thing. Maybe good samaritans can arrange a personal “national strike” for him alone.

“Since strike is hungrying(sic)the distinguished. Nobody will sell food or petrol to him, no airline will carry him, no bank will let him in. Etc. Let’s make his dreams come true lmfao”
