The Chairman of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has received report of the committee set up to fine tune progress of the Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS).
The report was presented to NAHCON Chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan.
The Committee comprised representatives of chief executives of states’ pilgrims’ welfare boards and representatives of NAHCON management.
In a statement by the NAHCON’s Head of Public Affairs, Hajiya Fatima Sanda Usara, the committee and NAHCON management deliberated on the report.
Issues arrived at include registration modalities, setting up of Hajj Savings Scheme Departments by the state boards, revenue sharing formula, general enlightenment on the scheme, state boards’ collaboration with Ja’iz Bank on the HSS portal and investment deadline as it relates to Arafat Day.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman Forum of State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards commended the NAHCON Chairman for his democratic leadership style and called on members to ensure implementation of the resolution in each state with immediate effect.
