NDE hands soft loan to 1,000 micro businesses in Kwara

The National Directorate of Employment, NDE, Kwara State office has disbursed the sum of Ten Million Naira to One Thousand youth and women to boost their businesses under its Micro Enterprise Enhancement Loan Scheme.

The NDE Director General, Dr. Nasir Mohammed Ladan made the disbursements during the 7th Annual Empowerment Programme of the Ilorin Emirate Youths Development Association, IEYDA, held at the Emir’s Palace, Ilorin.

The Director General represented by the Kwara State NDE Coordinator, Adeyemo Gabriel Ademola explained that the empowerment programme was in line with the mandate of the Directorate which seek to create opportunities and implement programmes that would combat mass unemployment, reduce poverty and enhance wealth creation.

Dr. Nasir Mohammed Ladan enjoined the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the loan to enhance their businesses.

The ceremony, which took place to commemorate the 25th coronation anniversary of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Zulu Gambari, was attended by eminent personalities including Justice Idris Abdullahi Haroon and wife of Kwara State Governor, Mrs. Olufunke AbdulRasaq represented by the State Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatul Modibo Kawu.
