NSCDC Agro-rangers Parade Cattle Rustlers In Baruten

Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps has paraded some suspects for allegedly stealing cows belonging to one Alhaji Megiwa of Gwanara District, Baruten, Kwara State.

In a statement by State PRO, NSCDC, Zaid Babawale, the arrest was made by agro-rangers of the corps sequel to report received three weeks ago.

“Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Gwanara Division on 26th of May, 2021 against Issa Faruq of Yere village and Woru Sika Sebo and Jobo Guruko nna of Gbongbonru village, also a case of robbery of a Bajaj Motorcycle on 17th of May, 2021 was charged against same suspects by Abdulmaliq Yunusa 26th of May, 2021,” he said.

Alhaji Megiwa complained that an information got to him that Issa Faruq and his partners in crime has cast away Six of his cows, Five (5) Male and one (1) Female on 18th of May, 2021.

In the course of enquiring from them they all admitted the allegation charged against them was true and they also confessed they robbed an unknown victims of a Bajaj Motorcycle on 18th of May, 2021.

While interrogating them, they confessed stealing the Six (6) cows and claimed to have sold them in between chinchinku village under Gwanara District and Paraku in Republic of Benin.

The suspect also confessed they robbed an unknown victim of a Bajaj Motorcycle on 18th May, 2021 along Borobiye road, under Gwanara District.

Jobo Gorokunaa, one of the suspect confessed that he shot into air with his local day gun when carrying out the robbery operation.

The stolen motorcycle was later recovered from Paraku in Republic of Benin through a confession made by one of the suspect (Woru Sika Sebo).

Due to the strike embarked on by the Nigeria Judiciary as at 8th of June, 2021, the judge Gwanara Area Court One, Magistrate Lukman Adamu advised that upon the return of Five (5) Cows by unknown person to the owner’s camp.

The two suspects namely, Woru Sika Sebo and Jobo Gorokunaa were released on bail on 8th of June, 2021 with the provision of three sureties against two weeks 22nd June, 2021 for possible punishments in the court of law as soon as judiciary resume from strike.
