Some residents of Ilorin today, invaded the international cargo terminal where palliatives were kept.

The people who lop off the warehouse claimed they are hungry, and they couldn’t afford to fold their arms while government hides what ought to be distributed to the poor masses in the name of storage.

They accussed the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazak of being insensitive to immediate needs of the people, noting that they are battling hunger while the government continues to keep food stuff away from their reach

Meanwhile top officials of the Kwara State Government, confirmed to Correspondent Alameen Abdulkodir that, the remaining palliatives were meant for one Local Government’s vulnerable groups  as victims from other Local Government already got their own shares.

They claimed that the Coalition Against Covid-19 (CACOVID) and the state government had since September 23rd flagged off the distribution of the palliatives but it was meant for specific households, as dictated by CACOVID, and so names had to be properly generated to allow for transparent and orderly distribution

The State Government said the remaining palliatives in the terminal were already being distributed by designated officials when the masses invaded the place.
