The Sultan Of Sokoto and the President of Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alh. Sa’ad Abubakar, has declared Tuesday April 13 as the first day of Ramadan.
Maxilensnews gathered that Sultan of Sokoto announced the sighting of the new crescent, Monday evening in Sokoto at a public address, saying that the new moon was sighted in different parts of the country and that report of the moon sighting were received from Muslim leaders and Organisations across the country.
The Sultan therefore, enjoined Muslims to use the month of Ramadan to move closer to Allah by engaging in good deeds, charity, humanitarian services, supplications as well as seeking forgiveness at all times.
He also charged them to use the glorious month to foster peaceful coexistence among religions adherents across the country.
