People of Ipoti-Ekiti in Ijero local government of Ekiti State this morning blocked road and prevented vehicular movement to and fro the community.

According to youth leader of Ipoti-Ekiti, Prince Folorunsho Adetoso, they embarked on the protest when they heard that headquarters of Irede LCDA would be moved to Koro.

Prince Adetoso said Governor Kayode Fayemi during his first tenure created Irede LCDA and made Ipoti the headquarters.

The youth leader While stressing that Ipoti, Ejiyan, Owatedo, Odo-Owa and Ilukuno were the Five communities who wrote to be given LCDA, noted that they were surprised that Koro which was never part of the plan was given the headquarters.

Meanwhile, when the Olupoti of Ipoti, Oba James Kolade Oladipupo addressed the youth at some minutes past One O’clock, promised that efforts were ongoing to correct the anomalies.

Correspondent Lanre Omotoso reports that the youth opened the road for passage having yielded to the promise from Oba Oladipupo, engaged in peaceful protest within the town carrying placards of various descriptions.
