The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly Rt Hon Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu has commiserated with the people of Offa and Ilorin Emirate over the loss of Group Captain Salaudeen Adebola Olatinwo (Rtd) and Ambassador Kayode Laro describing death of the elder statesmen as huge loss.
Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu in a condolence message over the demise of the two Kwara illustrious sons noted that the state has lost elder statesmen with exceptional leadership skills, qualities and intelligence that the government can tap to solve some of her challenges.
“I want to sincerely condole with the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, the renown Olatinwo family and the good people of Offa over the death of their son – Group captain Salaudeen Adebola Olatinwo, it is indeed a great loss. I also wish to sympathize with the Emir of Ilorin Dr Ibrahim Sulu-gambari CFR, the Laro family and the entire ilorin Emirate over the demise of their son – Ambassador Kayode Laro. We are pained by this huge loss of our illustrious sons who have done the state and the nation proud leaving behind enviable track records”, the Speaker noted in a statement.
“We are however comforted by the fact that the two departed gentle souls did their best as proud sons of Kwara state and left great legacies behind, it is my prayers that Almighty Allah would accept their return and gift them Aljanat Fridaos. On behalf of my humble self and the Kwara State House of Assembly the Tenth Legislature, we on again send our heartfelt condolences to the deceased families”.
Group captain Olatinwo served as Military Governor of Kwara State between January 1984 and August 1985 and Ambassador Laro is Nigeria’s current official envoy to France.
