Tractor Mechanics Charged On Honesty And Responsibility In Dealing With Clients

Tractor operators and mechanics have been advised to be honest in their trade so as not to liquidate the business of their paymasters.

Executive Director, National Center for Agricultural Mechanization, Dr Muideen Kasali gave the advice at the opening address to train tractor operators and mechanics at NCAM headquarters in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Represented by Engineer Yinka Ademuluyi, Dr Kasali said honesty of tractor operators and mechanics would elongate the life span of their machineries.

The executive director of NCAM said exploitation of tractors owners would negatively affect the farming activities by reducing food production and result to job loss.

Similarly, Head, department of monitoring and evaluation of NCAM, Engineer AbulRasheed Kamal, called on farmers and farm managers to learn more about tractor maintenance.

Engineer Kamal said involvement of farmers and farm managers in tractor maintenance would help to safe cost and time during their operations on the farm.

In a remark, Director of planning in the Centre, Engineer Julius Omisore advised the trainees to pay maximum attention and ask questions where necessary to enhance their capacities.

Engineer Omisore emphasized that NCAM which is saddled with responsibility of agricultural mechanization has professionals that would tutor them to reduce drudgery in farming.

The participants for the Two weeks training cut across farm managers, farmers and tractor operators from various states of the federation.
