WIFE OF KWARA STATE GOVERNOR AIDS CHILDREN WITH STATIONERY ON CHILDREN’S DAY

Children have been urged to imbibe measures, virtues of hard work, diligence, discipline, honesty, prudence, selflessness and patriotism essential to becoming responsible citizens.

Wife of the Kwara State Governor and founder Ajike people support program, Dr Olufolake Abdulrasaq stated this at a program organised for some selected schools in the state to commemorate 2021 Children’s Day Celebration in Ilorin.

Dr Olufolake Abdulrasaq promised that her office would continue to lead advocacies to protect children more effectively from all forms of violence, child labour , child trafficking, forced marriages and other such related vices.

While appreciating teachers and other development partners for evolving means to ensure children are celebrated in spite of the limitations posed by the COVID 19 Pandemic, wife of Kwara State Governor, also commend parents and guardians for their efforts at ensuring that their children and wards are guided particularly during the school closure that was occasioned by the pandemic.

Earlier, Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Deborah Aremu who lauded the philanthropic works of the first lady, urged the students not to underrate themselves and work towards striving for a better future.

In a remark, permanent secretary Ministry of Education, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, represented by Mrs Comfort Abioye explained to the students to be good ambassadors of their society.

The students who were picked from Ganmo Community Secondary School in Kwara South local government, Government Secondary School, Okesuna in Kwara Central and Government Secondary School Shao in Kwara North to represent the three senatorial districts in the state, were presented with stationeries.
