Fourteen bills and thirty two motions were passed by the Kwara State House of Assembly in the last two years.
Speaker of the House, Engineer Yakubu Danladi-Salihu made this known in a speech to commemorate second year anniversary of the Ninth Legislature at the Assembly complex Ilorin.
Engineer Danladi-Salihu reaffirmed the ninth Assembly’s resolve towards people’s oriented legislation in delivering dividends of democracy to their respective constituencies and congratulated members on their two years in office.
The Lawmakers in separate submissions itemized their achievements in two years and appreciated God and their Constituents for giving them the opportunity to serve.
Some of the bills passed by the ninth Assembly include Revised Appropriation Kwara State Residents Registration Bill and Kwara State Sports Commission Amendment bill among others
Meanwhile, three additional Commissioner Nominees were screened and confirmed by the Kwara State House of Assembly today.
They are Saba Gideon, Edu Local Government, Olaitan Burema Oyun Local Government and Salman Jawondo of Asa Local Government.
Responding to questions from lawmakers, a nominee of Edu Local Government, Mr Gideon promised to improve the seedling processing to enhance food security in the state if deployed to the Ministry of Agriculture
Also Speaking, Barrister Salman Jawondo assured the lawmakers of quick dispensation of justice in the state.
Olaitan Burema of Oyun Local Government was asked to take a bow and leave being a staff of the Kwara State House of Assembly.
