Stakeholders in the production value chain, particularly those in the agricultural sector have been advised on the need to get insurance policy that can take care of their risks.
Mr Ayoola Fatona who is the Head Agriculture and Micro Business Leadway Assurance Company Limited stated this while speaking to participants during a financial Literacy Workshop in Ilorin.
Mr Fatona said production value chain farmers are the ones mostly faced with various kind of risks and if its not properly taken care of that may be the end of the business.
He further stated that if the risks actually occur, it will help households and government manage natural hazards.
Mrs Adetola Adegbayi who is the Executive Director of the Company said no matter how small a business is there is need to register with an insurance company.
Earlier in his welcome address, Executive Director Ajike People Support Centre, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Opeloyeru said the participants should make good use of the knowledge acquired during the training to utilize their respective business activities as it will help them develop appropriate attitude to business management and growth in addition to other methods to upscale good performances in their various business operations.
Shittu Barakat Olajide and Abdulhakeem Ajenifuja said the training is very timely and it will assist them to plan for the future and also help in combating unforseen circumstances.
