The World Heavyweight Champion, Anthony Joshua, and the Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, have congratulated Lawrence Okolie, who won the World Boxing Organisation cruiserweight title.
Their congratulatory messages were contained in a series of tweets after the fight, which saw Lawrence Okolie knock out Poland’s Krzysztof Glowacki at Wembley Arena.
Anthony Joshua noted that victory meant the 28-year-old Londoner became the first male member of Britain’s 2016 Olympic squad to claim a professional world title, with Okolie unbeaten since joining the paid ranks.
