Kwara State, Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammad Bagega wants officers and men of the command to partner relevant stakeholders in their areas and discharge their duties with mutual respect and confidence.
Mr Bagega stated this during a meeting with top management officers, heads of Tactical Units and Divisional Police Officers in the command in Ilorin.
The Police who stressed the need for his personnel to carry out the task with fear of God, said that the main purpose of police existence in Kwara state is the people.
Mr Bagega warned that Illegal detention, extortion and other forms of abuses by the Police will be met with stiff sanctions, however admonished the officers to be at alert, proactive and intelligence gathering in line with the community policing strategy of the Inspector General of Police and in accordance with global best policing practice.
He further emphasise on constant and sustained raids of criminal hide outs, prosecution of culpable suspects in such operations devoid of any pecuniary considerations.
Mr Bagega while thanking the people and government of Kwara State for their cooperation reiterated his support and defense of police officers and men doing the right thing while acts of indiscipline among any rank would be summarily punished
