EFCC Arrests Presiding Officer, Party Agents Over Vote Buying In Kwara

The Ilorin Zonal office of the Economic and financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested twenty people including a presiding officer and party agents for alleged vote buying during the ongoing governorship and state house of Assembly in Kwara State.

Speaking with journalists after parading the suspect at the EFCC Zonal Command in iIorin, Zonal Commander, Michael Nzekwe, said the suspects were arrested while monitoring electioneering process in different part of the state.

He said the suspects were found with various incriminating materials which include four Point of Sale (POS)machine, Nigerian currency of various denomination, mobile phone, exercise books containing list of names and account numbers among others

Mr Nzekwe said the suspects are still being investigated and would be dealt with according to the law 8f found guilty.

He however urged residents of the states to desist from anything would affect the electioneering process negatively
