Eidel Maulid: Benue Muslims charged on peaceful coexistence with non-muslims

Muslim faithful in Benue state today joined their counterpart across the country to commemorate the birth of prophet Muhammad.

Speaking at a forum to celebrate the day, Chief Imam central Mosque Makurdi, Dr Suleiman Habeeb enjoined faithful to use the occasion to re access their lives and make amendment.

The Imam appealed to Government at all levels to create a conducive environment that would encourage self reliance of the youths to take them away from crime.

Also speaking, leader of Muslim community in the state, Alhaji Garba Baba advised Muslims to live peacefully with their neighbours irrespective of religious differences.

For his part, an Islamic scholar, Haruna Abdulrasheed stressed the need for sustained act of generosity towards the less privileged .
