Expect More Government Interventions, Kwara Speaker Assures The People of Baruten

In the next coming weeks, the people of Baruten Local Government will benefit more from infrastructural projects of the Kwara State Government.

The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Yakubu Danladi-Salihu dropped this hint while speaking at a book launch titled “Okuta: A Historical Perspective” and Palace Renovation Appeal Fund held in Okuta, Baruten Local Government Area.

Rt Hon. Danladi-Salihu who explained that the administration of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had touched all the eleven wards in Baruten Local Government with one project or the other assured that the Okuta township roads would soon be rehabilitated with laying of asphalt or interlock where necessary.

“Aside from several other projects of the AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq’s administration in Baruten, very soon, the government would commence interlocking of Okuta township roads to upgrade them”

“In an attempt to solve the problem of acute water shortage in Baruten Local Government, the present administration has sunk over three hundred boreholes to provide portable water for our people, the problem of water is, therefore, seventy-five per cent solved”

The Speaker noted that the challenges facing Kwara North and indeed Baruten are enormous and surmountable, adding that no effort would be spared to fix the infrastructural decay in the region.

“We are aware of the problems confronting Baruten and the entire Kwara North and these challenges are being tackled by the present government, insha Allah, we will not rest until significant differences are made to improve the lives of our people”

The Ilesha/Gwanara State Constituency representative who called on the people of Baruten to come together irrespective of political party affiliations and champion the unity and developmental agenda of the Local Government, appealed for more support for the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq whom he said, is changing the narrative across the state.

“Ours is a government that is responsible for the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Baruten, I, therefore, urge you to continue to support and cooperate with Governor AbdulRazaq in his efforts to build a Kwara that will work for all”.

Rt Hon Danladi-Salihu later launched the book on behalf of the Chief Launcher and Senator representing Kwara North, Pharmacist Sadiq Umar.

He commended the author, Dr Abubakar Boro for his Intellectual work, highlights of the event was launching of the book by the Speaker, Rt Hon Danladi-Salihu, his counterpart from Okuta/Yashikira Constituency, Clerk of the House of Assembly, Hajia Halimat Kperogi and other prominent sons and daughters of the area.

Earlier, the Emir of Okuta, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abubakar Idris Sero Kperogi Afon, Serobetete III in an address, appreciated the state government for extending dividends of democracy to Baruten and called on all sons and daughters of batonu irrespective of political parties to prioritize the development and interest of the local government.

The book which was reviewed by Professor Saka Mahmud had in attendance a former Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Isa Bio who chaired the occasion, Clerk of the House, Hajia Halima Kperogi, Baruten TIC Chairman, Hon AbdulRasheed Ibrahim Lafia, Kwara APC Caretaker Chairman, Hon Abdullah Samari and other serving and former political office holders.
