Gunmen have Kidnapped a Professor of Mathematical Science at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Johnson Fatokun, along Akwanga/Keffi highway.
Maxilensnews gathered that the his abductors have established contact with the victim’s family demanding the sum of 20 million naira as ransom.
An eyewitness who spoke to newsmen on the condition of anonymity said that the Professor was driving from Jos to Keffi at about 9:00pm when he was ambushed by the armed bandits.
He said, “As they were approaching Garaku in Kokona local government some people started shooting sporadically behind them.”
The Professor who was driving decided to increase his speed only to meet another group who where shooting at them, so they had to stop.”
“When we stopped they ordered us into the bush and they started speaking Hausa dialect and when I told him I don’t understand Hausa, he cocked the gun and would have shot at me but ran out of bullet, “the eyewitness narrated.
“That was when some Soldiers now came and engaged the gunmen in a gun battle, however, the men fled into the bush with the Professor.”
“Some of the kidnappers wore Police uniforms, and they were fully armed with sophisticated weapons, “he added.
Meanwhile, the Kidnappers are demanding the sum of 20 million from the victim’s family.
