The Inspector-General of Police has announced the dissolution of Federal SARS and the 36 States and FCT Commands of SARS following public outrage. Personnel will now be reintegrated into other policing formations.
This was contained in a statement issued, Sunday, by Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba in Abuja.
The IGP who admitted that the dissolution of SARS was in response to the agitations of Nigerians, observes that by this dissolution, all officers and men of the now-defunct Special Anti-robbery Squad are being redeployed with immediate effect.
