Kwara NUJ Election: Binta Mora Launches Resurgent Team, Takes Campaign To NOA

A Vice Chairperson candidate in the forthcoming Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Kwara State Council election, Binta Abubakar Mora, has pledged to contribute towards a formidable Kwara NUJ if elected into office.

Binta Abubakar made the pledge during the flag off of her campaign tagged Resurgent Team at the Radio Harmony FM Marketing office, GRA, Ilorin.

She promised to use her wealth of experience as practising journalist and as two term Chairperson of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ in Kwara to serve with passion and sincerity.

While noting that the 2021 Kwara NUJ
election would be having more women participation for the first time, Binta Abubakar said if given the opportunity, her team would serve without any form of discrimination.

In a goodwill message, the General Manager, Radio Nigeria Harmony FM, Idofian, Alhaji Abdulwahab Akoshile, identified with the Resurgent Team and charged all candidates to see themselves as one family to ensure a peaceful election.

Other sister organisations represented at the event were: Nigeria Television Authority, National Orientation Agency, National Ministry of Information, Correspondent Chapel as well as the Nigeria League of Women Voters.

Also present were, former National Vice President of NAWOJ, Hajiya Bilkis Oladimeji, Kwara NUJ executive members, including the Chairman, Mallam Umar Abdulwahab and other candidates on gesture of solidarity.

The Binta Abubakar Mora Resurgent Team also took its campaign to the National Orientation Agency and the Ministry of Information offices at the Federal Secretariat, Fate.

While soliciting votes from members of the chapels, Hajiya Binta reaffirmed her commitment to a collective struggle, stressing that her victory in the election would be victory for all.

She pledged to contribute towards better welfare for members as well as usher in opportunity for more women representation, by bringing her Twenty-three years broadcast experience as to bear.

Responding, Kwara State Director of the National Orientation Agency, NOA Mr Segun Adeyemi canvassed massive vote for Binta Abubakar and other female candidates for gender equity.

The NOA state Director, said his experience with Harmony FM further guarantees that any candidate from the chapel would perform credibly well.

In a vote of thanks, Chairman of the Resurgent Team, Mr Lawrence Afolabi appreciate NUJ members for the impressive support, assuring that his candidate would not betray the confidence reposed in her if elected.
