The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria, FMBN has promised a new 200 housing unit project in Kwara State.
This pledge was made today by the Branch Manager of FMBN in Ilorin, Mr Adedokun Adekanye, during a visit by the Kwara State Commissioner for Housing, Honourable Ibrahim Akaje.
“We are ready to build 200 units of housing once we are able to secure the land from the government. The mortgage bank will provide finance and construction,” Adekanye said.
According to him, the visit is the first of its kind by any commissioner to the bank. He therefore appreciated the young commissioner for his thoughtfulness and right action.
Adekanye also noted that he has been to the Kwara State Bureau of Land on several occasions to present the many offers of the bank for Kwarans even though there have not been many results lately.
The FMBN Branch Manager who was Elated by the visit, promised immediate commencement of the project, stressing that it will also provide massive job opportunities.
The bank equally has other benefits for Kwarans such as the Cooperative Housing Window, House Renovation loan, and many more, he added.
The Commissioner asserted the government’s readiness to partner with the bank, starting with the new housing units. He emphasised the commitment of the AbdulRahman administration to engage and foster relationships with all stakeholders on its determination to provide affordable housing for Kwarans.
Akaje promised that the Ministry will leave no stone unturned to make sure the housing project, alongside other efforts, is completed and delivered to Kwarans sooner than later.
The Commissioner said his Ministry will do everything possible to make affordable housing available for the people of Kwara. This is an important part of the governor’s agenda, he reiterated.
