The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Iskil Ayinla Makinde has appealed to the managements of the National Union of Road Transport Workers( NURTW) and Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria ( RTEAN) in the State to shun any action or inaction that can lead to breakdown of law and order in the State.
The Commandant stated this during a meeting organised by the NSCDC Crisis Management Department with the representatives of the NURTW, and RTEAN, Okoolowo branch, held at the Command’s premises in llorin on Wednesday.
According to a release signed by the NSCDC spokesman in Kwara State, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, the Commandant praised the efforts of the managements of both NURTW and RTEAN for their hitch free activities in the state
The Commandant, who was represented at the parley by Assistant Commandant Tunde Oloyede explained further that the meeting become imperative in order to further foster synergy and coperation between the Corps and the transport unions adding that NSCDC is always ready to respond any distress call from the unions.
In his response, NURTW chairman of Okoolowo Park, Babatunde Salman thanked the NSCDC for organising such important meeting promising the Corps that both NURTW and RTEAN will shun any act that can throw the State into crisis.
