Rwandan President Hosts Nigerian Governors

Nigerian Governors, were hosted for a dinner by the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame.

The dinner held in Kigali, on Saturday, was part of a three-day Executive Leadership Retreat organized and sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF).

A statement by the Spokesperson to the Zamfara State Governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, noted that President Paul Kagame participated in a closing session with the Governors on the theme “Leadership in shaping the future of Pan-Africanism and Integration in a Changing World”.

He added that the session lasted for over four hours where the Rwandan President extensively brainstormed and exchanged ideas with the Nigerian Governors, after which they proceeded to the closing dinner.

“The three-day Executive Leadership Retreat in Kigali, Rwanda started from 24 to 26 of August 2023, was organized and sponsored by the UNDP in collaboration with the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF).”

“During the retreat, the Governors were engaged in sessions that explored Rwanda’s successful investment destination transformation in digital technology, urban planning, and socio-economic transformation, capping off with a candid private dialogue with President Kagame.

“To honor the visiting Executive Governors from Nigeria, His Excellency, the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame hosted them for a closing dinner.

“The dinner served as an avenue to strengthen relationships and collaborations between the Government of Rwanda and Nigerian Government at the subnational level.”
