TEACHERS CHARGED TO PUT MEASURES IN PLACE TO ENFORCE COMPLIANCE WITH COVID-19 GUIDELINES

As schools across the country commence academic activities after weeks of closure due to second wave of Coronavirus, teachers and students have been urged to adhere strictly to safety measures to curb spread of the disease.

Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Ifelodun Local Government Area chapter of Kwara State, Comrade Julius Oyebanji made the appeal in an exclusive interview with correspondent Lanre Omotoso.

Comrade Oyebanji said the union had put measures in place to enforce compliance to the directives to safeguard the health of both teachers and students in Ifelodun Local Government against contracting Coronavirus.

He noted that the Union under his leadership had engaged districts and branches in series of physical as well as online seminars to sensitize them on how to curb spread of the disease.

Comrade Oyebanji appealed to schools in Kwara State and Nigeria to follow all safety guidelines by Nigeria Center for Disease Control which include, physical distancing, use of face-mask as well as regular washing of hands with soap and water.
