The People’s Voice Advocacy Network while applauding the outcome of the State High Court judgement sacking the illegal appointment of the Transition Implementation Committee for all the 16 local government councils in Kwara State, appreciates the patriotism of ENetSuD for spearheading the cause that led to victory.

In a press statement signed by the group’s Assistant Publicity Secretary, Comrade Olaitan Abdulraheem, the court judgement is an open attestation to the fact that the present administration led by Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq has little or no regards for democratic system.

According to Olaitan, “This calls for rejoice that justice later prevails against executive cum legislative rascality. A sober reflection to all stakeholders and community leaders in the state not to watch illegality triumphs over rule of law.

“Enough should be enough. The era where the rule of law will be grossly abused should be halted. The Governor of Kwara State, by his actions and inactions, has betrayed the electoral trust of Kwarans whose rights to vote and be voted for was tampered upon. By so doing, he denied Kwarans’ rights to representation at the local government level.

“Of course, we are quite aware that the Respondent (Kwara State Government) might want to exercise her rights to appeal as enshrined under the 1999 Constitution as amended. But doing so with the aim to tactically prolong the illegal stay of the sacked Transition Implementation Committee in all the 16 local government councils will further dent the image of the government and her political party, APC.

“We urge the Kwara State Government to honour the court verdict on the 7 prayers raised by ENeTSuD as a matter of urgency”, Comrade Olaitan reiterates.

Signed:

Comrade Olaitan Abdulraheem,
The Assistant Publicity Secretary,
The People’s Voice Advocacy Network.
