ANCOPSS Advises Stakeholders To Abide By COVID-19 Protocols As Schools Set To Resume

As Kwara State Government scheduled January 18, 2021 as resumption date for schools, management and teachers of public and private schools in the state have been advised to strictly adhere to COVID-19 preventive measures.

President, All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary School, ANCOPSS, Kwara State Chapter, Alhaji Toyin Abdullahi gave the advice in Ilorin in an interview with Abdullah Ahmed.

Alhaji Toyin Abdullahi stressed the need to abide by all the COVID-19 instructions and restrictions such as the use of facemasks, hand sanitizer and observing physical distance to curb the spread of the virus.

On preparation for school resumption, the Kwara State ANCOPSS President appealed to principals to ensure adequate provision of needed COVID-19 preventive facilities such as hand washing basins in their schools to guard against the virus which he said had affected academic activities across the country.

He also implored teachers and students to comply with Government directives and those of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, to fight coronavirus pandemic.

Alhaji Toyin Abdullahi commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for giving a listening hear to the calls of stakeholders in the education sector and enjoined the public to support the state Government in containing the COVID-19.

Schools were earlier scheduled to resume on January 4, 2021 but the resumption date was shifted due to the increasing rate of Coronavirus cases across the country.
