Emergency Motion: Kano Assembly Orders Council Members To Be Sworn In

The Kano State House of Assembly has given four days ultimatum to the newly elected local government chairmen to be sworn in all appointed administrative secretaries, supervisory councilors and special advisers.

The ultimatum was given at today’s plenary presided over by the Speaker, Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari.

In an emergency motion filed by member representing Karaye, Alhaji Nasiru Abdullahi Dutsen Amare,who is also the Chairman House Committee on Local Government and chieftancy Affairs said the committee had received complaints that most of the administrative secretaries, supervisory councillors and special advisers are yet to be sworn in.

The house unanimously agreed to the motion and called on the local government chairmen to swear in all the concerned between 3rd to 6th August 2021.
