Indigenes of Kwara State studying in various higher institutions across the country have been advised to pay more attention to their studies so as to excel in life.

Former President, National Association of Kwara State Students, NAKSS during 1992/93 set, Barrister Suleiman Jabata gave the advice at the association’s annual week held at University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State.

Barrister Jabata said aside from paying more attention to their studies to excel in life, the Kwara State indigenes in higher institutions should also engage in social activities for fertilization of ideas to sharpen their horizon.

Speaking on the theme Harnessing the creativity and energy of youth, a way forward to better Kwara, the legal luminary urged the students to engage in skill acquisition to be employer of labour rather than job seekers after graduation.

Guest speaker at the harmony week, Mallam AbdulAzeez Oniyangi stressed on the need for government at various levels to provide social amenities to reduce rural-urban migration.

Represented by Mr. Isiaq Ojibara, Mallam Oniyangi advised the students to participate in political activities in the country so as to influence government policies.

There were goodwill messages from former president of NAKSS headquarters, Comrade Adisa Jaji, chairman of NAKSS central axis, Senator Jamiu Oniwara commending University of Ilorin chapter led by Comrade AbdulKareem Adebowale for hosting this years harmony week despite the financial challenges.

Highlight of the NAKSS annual week was launching of its magazine which was witnessed by dignitaries and representatives of various higher institutions of Kwara indigenes across the country.
