Journalists Charged On Professionalism As Harmony FM Chapel Of NUJ Takes Oath Of Office

Journalists in the country have been urged to avoid any conduct that will smear image of journalism, but abide by ethics of the profession as watchdog of the society.

Kwara State Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade AbdulLateef Ahmed gave the advice at inauguration of Harmony FM chapel of the council in Idofian.

Comrade AbdulLateef said abiding by the ethics of journalism would help them not to be bias with religion and ethnicity.

The Kwara State NUJ advised the newly inaugurated executive council members of Harmony FM chapel to make openness, transparency and integrity their watchwords.

In a remark, Chairman, Harmony FM NUJ chapel, Mallam Abdullah Ahmed promised loyalty of the chapel to the state council

Mallam Ahmed emphasized that the chapel would attend meetings regular at the chapel and at the council, with assurance of training to move NUJ forward.

The newly inaugurated executive members of Harmony FM chapel has Mallam Abdullah Ahmed as Chairman, Miss Rasheedat Oloru as Vice Chairman, Mrs Misstura Tolani as Secretary General, Mr Umar Abubakar as Financial Secretary and Mrs Faithiat Olaitan as Treasurer.

The Kwara NUJ chairman was accompanied by Vice-Chairman, Hajia Binta Abubakar-Mora, General Secretary, Deacon Ayanda Tayo and Auditor, Comrade Moshood Sarumi.
