The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi has confirmed that the House received the list of commissioner nominees as forwarded by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and not just a “cover letter”
This followed the allegation by a local tabloid, not National Moonlight Newspaper, that the letter the governor forwarded did not contain any list but rather a blank note.
Speaking for the Speaker in a telephone chat, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Speaker, Sheu Abdulkadir Yusuf revealed that the claim of a ‘cover letter’ is baseless and could only emanate from mischief-makers, urging the general public to disregard such claim.
Sheu Yusuf said the House received an executive communication from the Governor, for the confirmation of twenty (20) Commissioner-nominees while seeking legislative approval for ten (10) Special Advisers.
Speaking on why the Assembly is yet to reconvene, the CPS said “That is a technical issue and does not have anything to do with the list. There is no connection between the two and the House will reconvene once it is sorted out”.
